The community of Buxton will celebrate their annual homecoming a bit differently going virtual this year due to Covid. Shannon Prince, Currator of the Buxton National Historic Museum has the details for how the weekend will go. Anyone wishing to attend “Homecoming” is welcome to come to the Buxton National Historic Site, which was Canada’s largest and most successful planned settlement and a haven for fugitive slaves. You will have great fun with the “Family Feud” baseball tournament, “Party in the Park” dance, parade, vintage car show, children’s rides…something for everyone. Special stops will include a worship service in one of the churches and visits to the school and log cabin that date back to the days before emancipation. Join the family Reunion!
