Some summer nights are so hot, even the wind can’t be bothered to move. What better time to head to the park with family and neighbours for a cooling fire truck sprinkler run, a visit with Sparky and a chance to meet Windsor Fire and Rescue Services and Fire Prevention staff for truck tours and fire safety information.
Windsor Fire & Rescue Services (WFRS) will be hosting a summer-long tradition at a different park in all ten wards, each Thursday from 5:30-7:30 pm. Residents have the chance to go over some lifesaving tips and reminders while getting acquainted with WFRS staff. Kids can check out the fire trucks, participate in hand-on activities, and ask any fire safety questions. The firefighters will be grilling hotdogs and providing water and orange drink which are free to those who attend on a first come, first serve basis.
We have many community partners on board this year who saw it as an exciting opportunity.
