Community Event - Kingston - Target Earth

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

On Saturday, September 22, astronomer Frank Hitchens presents Target Earth, an examination of the threat to earth from comets and asteroids.  How likely is it that we'll see an impact on the magnitude of the one which led to the extinction of the dinosaurs?  Could even a small impact threaten our civilization, and is it possible to avert disaster?

2 p.m., at the Isabel Turner Branch.  Open to all adults and teens, but seating is limited. To avoid disappointment, please register in advance.  Register at events.kfpl.ca or by phone at (613) 549-8888 as of 9 a.m. on Saturday, September 8.  For more information visit www.kfpl.ca .
