Have you taken a DNA test from a genealogy company like Ancestry or FamilyTree DNA? Did you know those results can be shared online with other genealogy websites as well? In this workshop, you'll learn how to work with your test results to find more matches. Take your DNA research to the next level! Joyce Fingland from the Ontario Genealogical Society will guide you through the process on Thursday, December 13, starting at 7 p.m. at the Isabel Turner branch of the Kingston Frontenac Public Library. This workshop will show you how to upload your DNA results to the GedMatch and MyHeritage sites. Joyce will explain the pros and cons of each service and show how each has helped to find more matches for her own family tree. This event is open to anyone who has already taken a DNA test and received the results. For this workshop, participants will need a few basic computer skills and the login information from their original DNA test company. Seating is limited. To avoid disappointment, please register in advance. Registration opens on Saturday, December 1, at 9 a.m. and can be done either online at events.kfpl.ca or by phone at (613) 549-8888.
