If your New Year’s resolution was to dust off your old instrument, the WSCO is here to help.
Beginning January 2019, Windsor-Essex will be home to another stellar orchestra: the Windsor Symphony Community Orchestra. In partnership with the University of Windsor’s School of Creative Arts, the WSCO will connect music students of SoCA and amateur players from across Windsor-Essex. This new and innovative ensemble led by WSO Assistant Conductor Daniel Wiley provides a new opportunity for University of Windsor students to enrich their education and community members to perform once again.
When asked about the newly formed group and its members, conductor Daniel Wiley said: “The response has been overwhelming! There are many members of our community that play instruments who haven’t played in years because there was no organized ensemble to perform with. We recognize that need and want to provide every opportunity for great music making. This is an exciting time in Windsor-Essex.”
Spots are still available. Anyone interested in joining the WSCO is to contact the WSO via email. Rehearsals will run every Tuesday evening from 7:00PM-9:15PM at the Capitol Theatre (121 University Ave. W).
