The Peterborough Amateur Radio Club will host the 2019 ARRL North America Amateur Radio Field Day in the Peterborough and Kawartha Lakes districts. The event features skilled radio operators communicating with each other from around North America in this annual test of emergency communications capabilities. Everyone is welcome to come and see sophisticated radio systems, observe local operators demonstrate their skills, ask questions about communications and how to obtain a ”ham” license and participate by assisting station operators. This free event begins at 2pm Saturday June 22 and will operate continuously for 24 hours from Newhall Park at the corner of Lock and McKellar Streets in Peterborough.
