The MS Bike – Ottawa to Cornwall is one of the flagship fundraising events of the MS Society, Ottawa and Cornwall Chapters. Every August, cyclists in Ottawa, Cornwall, and SDG raise money and cycle up to 225 kilometers in support of multiple sclerosis. This year marks our 30th Anniversary for the MS Bike – Ottawa to Cornwall!
Each day, 11 people are diagnosed with MS in Canada, which has one of the highest rates of MS in the world. The MS Society, Ottawa and Cornwall Chapters, have been supporting hundreds of those affected with MS and their families in our local community. Together with dedicated volunteers, donors and sponsors, we are committed to our mission of being a leader in finding a cure for MS and enabling people affected by MS to enhance their quality of life.
MS Bike is a fully-supported, two-day bike tour leaving from the Metcalfe arena on the morning of Saturday August 17th, staying overnight at the NAV Centre in Cornwall, and cycling back to Metcalfe the next day. Our focus for the event is making sure that our cyclists are safe, are well-fed, and are entertained throughout the weekend, and we need local volunteers to help make this happen.
We are looking for volunteers to fill roles in Cornwall at the NAV Centre and in SDG at the check point areas. These positions include set-up, bike storage, cheering, luggage, photographers, checkpoint attendants, etc.
