Community Event - Kingston - Kingston Grandmother's Market for Africa

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

Our popular Market for Africa returns for its 12th year in Kingston. Saturday, November 2, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., again at Crossroads United Church, 690 Sir John A. MacDonald Blvd., Kingston, Ont. (across from the Kingston Centre). Easy access by bus, in the centre of town, lots of parking. Admission is free.

Have a bowl of soup for lunch, and shop for gifts from Africa and beyond. Grannies’ sewing, baking and other goodies, hand made treasures and Christmas Crafts, “recycled” jewelry, art and fabulous fashion. This year we’re adding a line of “green initiative” products. Oh, and we’d love if you could bring your own shopping bag.

Funds raised help African grandmothers who have lost their children to HIV/AIDS and are raising their grandchildren, through the Stephen Lewis Foundation’s Grandmother to Grandmother Campaign and Help Lesotho. “We are making a difference”.
