October 23, 7pm at Olde Walkerville Theatre, twelve of the Windsor area’s best artists will compete across three fast-paced rounds for audience votes and a chance to enter this year’s Art Battle National Tournament. The audience will circle the competitors in each round, and choose their favourite paintings to move forward. After the Final Round, only one Champion will remain and audience members can take home their favourite painting by bidding in our silent auction!
These competitors are a mix of veteran professional artists and emerging talents who want to share their process and talent with a new audience. Featured painters include Gulnaz Turdalieva, who loves “the idea of creating under time restrictions,” as well as Jeff Denomme, who is looking forward to sharing his “fun, character driven art [that] balances cute and scary” with the Art Battle community. Art Battle invites culture enthusiasts, painters, art collectors, art party lovers, and the entire Windsor community to join the experience and vote for the next Art Battle Champion!
A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Cardiac Wellness program at Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare. This program aids individuals who have suffered a cardiac incident in rehabilitation and provides them with the knowledge to improve their dietary and physical activity levels in order to live with improved health and wellness. This six month program focuses on individuals working together with healthcare professionals to develop a plan of action that best fits each patients’ personal needs. The inter-professional team may include supervisory Physicians, Registered Kinesiologists, Cardiac Rehab Specialists, Registered Dietitians, Nurse Practitioners, and Social Workers.
