Community Event - Kingston - Talks on Estates & Power of Attorney at Libraries

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

Have you been putting off writing your will?  Are you considering drawing up a Power of Attorney — for yourself or for a parent?  Does the thought of estate planning make you anxious?  Then plan to attend one of our free KFPL Live talks offered with the help of the Ontario Bar Association.

Local estate lawyers will explain why advance planning is so advisable and what common pitfalls to avoid when preparing your will.  Power of attorney issues and the roles and responsibilities of executors and attorneys for property and personal care will be discussed.  You will be able to ask questions, but no legal advice will be provided.

We will be offering this talk three times:

  • at 7 p.m. on Monday, November 18, at the  Isabel Turner branch
  • at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, at the Sydenham branch
  • at 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 28 at the Calvin Park branch

As all three presentations will be the same, please plan to attend just one.  Each is free to adults, but seating is limited. To avoid disappointment, please register in advance online at calendar.kfpl.ca or by phone at (613) 549-8888.
