The Donation of $6,398 to Support Families with Care Costs for Children
February 11, 2021:

For the past 33 years, the Renfrew County Real Estate Board has been a
proud supporter of Family and Children’s Services of Renfrew County. Through a variety of
donations, including annual deliveries of new stuffed animals, it has been able to bring smiles to
hundreds of children’s faces.

This year, the Board’s holiday fundraising efforts garnered a total
of $6,398 to support children and their families across Renfrew County. What makes this an
extra special donation is the much needed financial support it will provide to families for child
related expenses where government funding is limited or not available.

“Many might not know that kin who step in to care for the child or children of a relative do not
receive financial assistance to do so”, says Kathy Davis, Executive Director, Family and
Children’s Services of Renfrew County. “Additionally, we work with many families with a child
or children diagnosed with developmental disabilities where current funding might not meet all
of their child’s needs. This donation will help families with such expenses as clothing, food,
toiletries and other needs, as well as supplies and access to artistic or recreational activities for
their children. We are so grateful to RCREB for their generosity.”

The Renfrew County Real Estate Board was able to raise the generous donation through their
holiday “fun”draiser during the 2020 holiday season, including individual realtor donations, a
50/50 draw and an office-decorating contest.
“RCREB Realtor members have such a passion to support the needs of our community,” says Cindy Sell,
Broker, RE/MAX Pembroke Realty and organizer of RCREB’s Holiday Virtual ‘Fun'draiser. “Although
the pandemic meant we had to do everything differently this year, we were thrilled that it didn’t impact
our fundraising efforts, and we’re so grateful to all of our local business partners who were able to
contribute to this donation.”
