OPP COMMUNITY STREET CRIME UNIT - PROJECT NIELD

Police operation underway

 

(PEMBROKE, ON) - On the morning of December 2, 2021, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) began executing multiple Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrants at several locations in the City of Pembroke, Renfrew and Arnprior. The search warrants come after a several month long drug investigation by OPP's Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) dubbed Project NIELD. Assisting the CSCU with the investigation are members of OPP's Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB), Biker Enforcement Unit (BEU), Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), Emergency Response Team (ERT), Regional Support Team (RST), Renfrew County Crime Unit and members of the Pembroke, Upper Ottawa Valley, Renfrew and Arnprior OPP Detachments.

 

Residents can expect to see an increased police presence in certain areas as the police operation continues throughout the day. There is no known risk to public safety. Updates will be provided as they become available.
