-UPDATE #1-
(DEEP RIVER, ON) - The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), working collaboratively with the Deep River Police Service (DRPS), has laid charges in connection with a death investigation in the Town of Deep River.
On December 11, 2022, shortly after 8:30 p.m., officers attended a residence on Rutherford Avenue in Deep River to conduct a well-being check, where one person was located deceased.
An investigation was launched under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), in conjunction with the DRPS, the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario (OCCO) and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service (OFPS).
The identity of the deceased person remains under investigation.
The investigation is continuing with the assistance of the OPP's Forensic Identification Services (FIS), Emergency Response Team (ERT), Regional Support Team (RST) and the UOV OPP Crime Unit.
Adam ROSSI, age 41 of Deep River, has been arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code (CC) offences:
• Second degree murder - section 235(1)
• Indignity to a body - section 182(b)
The accused was held for a bail hearing on December 12, 2022, at the Ontario Court of Justice in the City of Pembroke.
