The Arnprior Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges after three break and enters at a jewelry store in the Town of Arnprior. East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), the OPP Canine Unit, and OPP East Region Forensic Identification Unit assisted in the investigation.
On January 3, 2023, Arnprior OPP responded to a break and enter in progress at a jewelry store in the Town of Arnprior. The suspect was described as a male leaving the scene on a bicycle wearing black.
This was the third break and enter reported at this location in the last month.
Officers arrived within minutes of receiving the initial call, secured the scene and continued to patrol the area.
As a result of the investigation on this date one person faces charges.
Christopher Alain Joseph Tremblay, 32 years old, of Arnprior ON, was charged with:
· Break, enter a place- commit indictable offence, contrary to section 348(1)(b) of the Criminal Code (CC), three counts
· Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000, contrary to section 355(b) of the CC, three counts
· Possession Break in instruments, contrary to section 351(1) of the CC
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on February 15, 2023.
