Jane’s Walk Cobourg is part of a global festival of free, volunteer-led walking conversations inspired by the writer, urbanist and activist Jane Jacobs (1916-2006). The annual festival happens on the first weekend of May.
This year Cobourg has four walks on Saturday, May 6th, starting at 11 am and each about an hour long. There’ll be a pub debrief at Taps and Corks at 5 pm to share stories of the day.
11 am – History of the harbour and Victoria Park, led by author and photographer John McQuarrie.
1 pm – Lessons in Sustainable Living in West Cobourg, led by Gig Ludorf-Weaver, founder of Sustainable Cobourg.
2 pm – Cobourg in film and TV, led by filmmaker Micol Marotti.
3:30 pm – Down by the Boardwalk: The Ecology Garden, West Beach and West Headland, led by Dora Body, chair of the Ecology Gardeners.
For up-to-the-minute information about the walk and registration, go to the Experience Cobourg website.
