Niagara-on-the-Lake Increases Resident Parking Pass Limit to 3 Hours

The Town has exciting news, Niagara-on-the-Lake residents! At the July 25, 2023, Council Meeting, Town Council approved a motion to extend the Resident Parking Pass parking limit from 1 hour to 3 hours. This change came into effect immediately.

“In an effort to assist our residents in accessing amenities in the Town and encourage visitation at local businesses, Council is extending the Resident Parking Pass time limit to 3 hours which means more convenience to our residents and more support to our local businesses," stated Lord Mayor Gary Zalepa. “I am looking forward to this change and its benefit for our businesses and residents accessing and enjoying our beautiful Heritage District.”

The 2023 Resident Parking Passes will continue to be priced at $22.00, with 2024 Resident Parking Passes priced at $30.00. The Town believes that the nominal increase in cost is justified by the added benefits it brings to residents. The Town remains committed to ensuring fair and accessible parking options for all residents.

Additionally, unlimited free parking will be provided to all resident parking permit holders during the month of December.

“As part of the Town’s commitment to enhancing the experience for residents, we are excited to announce the transition from 1-hour parking to 3-hour parking for resident permit holders,” stated CAO Marnie Cluckie. “We believe this adjustment will offer greater convenience to residents and strike a balance between meeting residents’ needs and managing parking effectively.”

Resident Parking Passes are available to all Niagara-on-the-Lake residents and can be used where parking fees apply in the Heritage District. For more information about Resident Parking Passes, please visit www.notl.com/town-services/parking/permits-penalties.
