Recreational Open Air Burning Bylaw Update

Chief Selle reminds all residents that the City of Pembroke has a bylaw in place to regulate “Recreational Open Air Burning”.

The current By-law restricts open-air fires to properties that border the Indian, Muskrat or Ottawa Rivers. All other properties within the City of Pembroke are
prohibited from conducting open air fires.

The City Council are currently reviewing this By-law to make changes and will advise once any amendments have been approved and formally passed this fall.
The new By-law will be posted on the City website, radio and on our social media platforms.

The current By-Law #2020-21 “Recreational Open Air Burning” can be found on the City of Pembroke website. Chief Selle says, “I wish to thank our residents for your continued patience during this time of review.”
