Peterborough woman's vehicle impounded following impaired driving investigation

A 43-year-old Peterborough woman is facing impaired charges after an incident Thursday morning.

At approximately, 10:30 a.m. on August 17, 2023, police say officers were called to the parking lot of a business in the McDonnel Street and Aylmer Street area about a possible impaired driver. Upon arrival, police say officers noticed open alcohol in the vehicle and further signs of alleged impairment with the driver.  Further investigation revealed the woman was  allegedly three times over the legal limit.

As a result, a 43-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was issued a 90-day license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 5, 2023.
