From the TLDSB: There has been another incident of graffiti at Monck Public School in Bracebridge where someone has defaced the same mural that was created by students last spring. This mural was initiated by the students to beautify their outdoor space.
Not only are acts of vandalism hurtful to our students, staff, and wider community, it is disrespectful and a crime. In situations such as these, we are fortunate that the school community comes together to support one another but it is also a time to remind everyone that graffiti on school property is illegal and there are many other ways to express oneself.
Not only is vandalism upsetting to the students and staff, it also requires the facilities staff to clean up what the vandal(s) has done, which takes them away from the important work they do for our students each day.
TLDSB will continue to work closely with the local police department on this crime and have increased surveillance in the area. Anyone with information is to contact the Bracebridge police at 705-645-2211.
