The book VALOUR REMEMBERED will be launched on September 23 at 1:30 pm at the Sarnia Legion.
The book is a non-profit, volunteer endeavour by its authors Tom Slater and Tom St. Amand. The Legion and the Sarnia Historical Society has funded the printing of a number of books that will be sold at $20 a piece (the cost to print) at the event.
The authors have spent the last 3 years researching and writing stories about 25 local veteran and fallen soldiers.
Valour Remembered is a collection of 25 stories about soldiers from Sarnia-Lambton, many whose lives and heroism have never been told. All were young men; some were brothers; a few were married with little ones at home; and many made the ultimate sacrifice and never saw their loved ones again. What united them was their unwavering courage as they risked their lives for others’ freedom. The stories span events from The Great War and World War II to the Korean War and The War in Afghanistan.
