Niagara, ON – September 26, 2023 – The Niagara Health Foundation and the It's Our Future campaign
are thrilled to announce a transformative donation of one million dollars from Michael and Jana Katz.
This generous contribution will play a pivotal role in advancing the healthcare services and facilities in
the Niagara Region, reinforcing the couple's dedication to enhancing the community's well-being.

housed in state-of-the-art facilities."
In expressing their motivation behind this exceptional donation, Michael and Jana Katz stated, "The
reason why people should be willing to get involved is because it’s in everyone’s interest to make sure
we have a world class health care system. We want to attract the best people, have the best equipment,
and the best facility. There is no gift too small or too large. Do what you can because we are all going to
use the Niagara Health System one day if you don't use it now." Mike and Jana also want to thank Mike
Somerville, retired Executive Director of the GNG Foundation, for never stopping to advocate for
Niagara Health and the new hospital. It was Mike’s passion that inspired the Katz’s gift to the campaign.

With the groundbreaking ceremony for the new hospital site already concluded, the Niagara Health
