A 35-year-old Cobourg man is facing robbery charges after police responded to an incident Thursday afternoon.
On Thursday, September 28, 2023, at approximately 4:45 p.m., police responded to a report of an assault in a parking lot in the area of Division Street and Chapel Street in Cobourg.
Police investigation revealed that a man asked the victim to hand over his money, uttered threats, and then punched them in the face. The victim received minor injuries. No weapons were involved.
The suspect was located and arrested a short distance away. As a result of the investigation, 35-year-old Daniel Tyler Foden of Cobourg was charged with robbery with violence, uttering threats to cause death and assault a peace officer.
The accused was held in custody pending a Show Cause Hearing.
