Multicultural Centre, in partnership with the City of St. Catharines, are set to take over
St. Catharines Farmers Market with a harvest pie festival supporting local charities on
Thursday, Oct. 5.

Those who pre-register can submit their registration ticket at the event for a chance to
win a free pie.
"We are delighted to partner with the Downtown Association and the Niagara Folk Arts
Multicultural Centre as we plan a Harvest Pie Festival for the community,” says Deanna
Chakarova, community and market coordinator for the City. “This event will provide a
great opportunity for locals to come together and enjoy delicious pies while supporting
local charities.”
From noon to 3 p.m., the Harvest Pie Festival will transform Market Square into a
delectable paradise, showcasing a delightful array of sweet and savoury pies created by
local bakers and small businesses.
Nine-inch family-sized pies will be available for purchase for $25 each, while smaller
hand-held four-inch pies will be priced at $15. For each pie sold, a donation of $5 will be
made towards supporting a local charity of the baker or vendor’s choice. Scotiabank is
generously matching all donations.
A free selfie booth with a fall backdrop on site will add to the festive atmosphere. The
market’s regular floral vendor will be extending services to include a build-your-own
centrepiece workshop for the upcoming holiday weekend. Local band The O'Deadlys
will take the market stage from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. providing live entertainment.
Visitors are encouraged to tour the market to visit all the vendors that will be open that
day. Find out more at stcatharines.ca/PieFestival.
