A 37-year-old Cobourg woman is facing charges after police responded to a call at a local business.
On Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at 9:50 a.m., police received a report of an assault at a business near King Street West and Division Street.
It was reported that a woman entered the business, became involved in an argument with the business owner, and was asked to leave the store. The female assaulted the business owner and caused damage to the property before leaving the store.
As a result of police investigation, the female was arrested. During the arrest, she assaulted and spat at the officers. The 37-year-old Cobourg woman was charged with assault, assault of a peace officer and mischief under $5,000.
The accused was held for a bail hearing and remanded into custody.
