A 52-year-old Cobourg woman is facing an arson charge

A 52-year-old Cobourg woman is facing an arson charge following an incident Sunday morning.

Police were called to a business on Cover Street for a report of a fire. Upon arrival officers learned that the contents of a dumpster caught fire, which spread to the neighbouring business and caused damage to the exterior siding of the building.

The fire was extinguished with the assistance of the Cobourg Fire Department.

52-year-old Heather GILL-FALLOWFIELD of Cobourg was arrested at the scene and charged with the following:

1) Arson – damage to property contrary to section 434 of the Criminal Code

GILL-FALLOWFIELD was held in custody pending a Show Cause Hearing on October 29th, 2023.
