Community Event - Niagara - Carousel Player's Presents Tiny Treasures Nov. 10

Can James keep up his daily marathon without letting his friends or teachers know what’s really going on at home?

James is a young caregiver, trying to balance school work, a social life, and his own health with the demands of taking care of his mother and younger sister. When a school trip comes up, James has to choose between caring for his family or what it would be like to care for himself for a change. This is a story of strength and resilience that shines a light on the struggles of young people who feel like the world is resting on their shoulders.

Written by British playwright Kevin Dyer, this production of Tiny Treasures features Niagara-based actors Taylor Bogaert and Christina Nicolaou in leading roles and was developed in collaboration with Niagara Young Caregivers Association to incorporate the voices and perspectives of young people in the Region who are themselves in similar situations to James.

Carousel Players will open its 53rd season with a public performance of Tiny Treasures on November 10, 2023 at 7pm. The public is invited to join Carousel Players at the Arts Education Center (366 St. Paul St. St. Catharines / 3rd Floor, Silver Spire United Church) for an opening night presentation in advance of the play’s tour of schools across the Niagara region throughout November and December.
