The Cobourg Police Service (CPS) continues to encourage residents to complete a police report for lost, missing, or stolen property as we work to return recovered items to rightful owners.

Close to 60 bikes have been recovered by police. Many do not match submitted reports for lost, missing, or stolen property. If you have property that is missing, lost, or stolen, please file a report using our online system at cobourgpoliceservice.com/online-reporting. If you require assistance, you can call us at 905-372- 6821 Ext. 2285.

To check on a missing bicycle or other lost items that has been reported, please email property.custodians@cobourgpolice.com or call 905-372-6821 ext. 2285.

Whether collected as evidence at a crime scene or found abandoned, the property custodian catalogues and tracks property that comes into the custody of CPS. Reporting when property goes missing can greatly increase the chance of it being returned if recovered by police. A detailed description can help police know what they are looking for or compare it to recovered property,” says Staff Sergeant Scott Bambridge.

To help with your report or your enquiry, please have the following information available (if applicable or known):

• a detailed description of the missing item
• a photo
• serial number
• the date the item was lost or stolen
