
A 39-year-old Port Hope man is facing charges after breaching a probation order.
On Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at 5:45 p.m., an off-duty officer observed an individual actively in contravention of a probation order not to attend any public community centres or swimming areas where any persons under the age of 16 are present or expected to be present.
Police attended a local business in the north end of Cobourg and confirmed the male was breaching his court- imposed conditions. Christopher Mcilmoyle (39) of Port Hope was arrested and charged with failure to comply with probation order contrary to section 162.2(4) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused was held for a bail hearing.
