The North Bay Police Service responded to a fatal motor vehicle collision in the area of Gormanville
Road near Birchwood Road.
At approximately 5:30 p.m. on November 23, 2023, members of the North Bay Police Service attended
a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian, which occurred on Gormanville Road near Birchwood
Road. A pickup truck struck a pedestrian. Members of the North Bay Police Service and area
emergency services attended the location. The victim was transported to hospital, however, was later
pronounced deceased.
Police closed Gormanville Road as part of the investigation at approximately 5:45 p.m. until
approximately 9:30 p.m.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing with assistance from the Ontario Provincial Police’s
Technical Traffic Collision Investigators. No charges have been laid at this time.
The North Bay Police Service will not be releasing the name of the victim in this incident.
The North Bay Police Service reminds all road users to be vigilant and attentive. In the winter months
visibility can be limited as daylight hours are reduced and inclement weather occurs more frequently.
