Dec. 7, 2023 – What has become a holiday tradition in St. Catharines is returning for a
33rd year.
The City of St. Catharines will host its annual Civic Christmas Carol Concert on
Tuesday, Dec. 12 at St. Thomas Anglican Church, located at 99 Ontario St. The free
event will take place from noon to 1:30 p.m., with doors opening at 11:30 a.m. Monetary
donations will be accepted on behalf of Community Care of St. Catharines and Thorold.
The concert will feature the choir from Laura Secord Secondary School, as well as the
Ridley College Vocal Ensemble. The St. Catharines Civic Brass Ensemble will also be
performing that afternoon. This year’s guest speaker is Niagara Children’s Centre CEO
Oksana Fisher.
“This concert is an important holiday tradition in our city. It attracts a large response
from the community, who fill the church every year to enjoy the incredible
performances,” said Mayor Mat Siscoe. “It provides a fundraising boost for Community
Care as well. Over $100,000 has been raised for the organization since the concert first
launched.”
Those not able to make the Dec. 12 concert will be able to watch the broadcast on
YourTV Niagara. Times are still being finalized, but you can check out their website
