The Town of Grimsby Appoints a New Director of Legislative  Services/Town Clerk

Town Council and Chief Administrative Officer, Sarah Kim, are pleased to announce
that after a comprehensive recruitment process, Victoria Steele has accepted the
position of Director of Legislative Services/Town Clerk at the Town of Grimsby. The
Town is excited to find a candidate who will not only meet the many demands of the
comprehensive position, but will also be a key resource to our community, Council, and
Staff.


As Director of Legislative Services/Town Clerk, Victoria will oversee administration of
Council and Committee meetings, records management, policies and procedures,
municipal licensing, regulatory and statutory By-laws, and municipal and school board
elections. In addition, she will serve as a legislative advisor to Council, the CAO and
Corporate Leadership Team, to maintain strategic, collaborative operations and a
positive corporate culture.


With more than 10 years experience in the public sector, Victoria brings a wealth of
experience and has previously worked at the Town of Niagara on the Lake, where she
held multiple roles including Strategy and Government Relations Officer, Acting Town
Clerk and Manager of Legislative Services, and Executive Assistant and
Communications Officer to Lord Mayor and CAO.


Victoria holds a Bachelor of Arts, a post-graduate certificate in Public Administration, a
certificate from the AMCTO Clerks Institute, and a Diploma of Municipal Administration.
As a trusted advisor to Council, Senior Leadership, Staff and the public, Victoria will be
a great addition to the team. She will join the Clerk’s Department on January 17, 2024.
