Police opened a theft investigation after receiving a report of two incidents of theft from a business in the area of Strathy Road and DePalma Drive. On December 4, 2023, and January 21, 2024, a man entered the business, removing items from the store without paying.
On February 1, 2024, police received a report from staff that the man returned to the business, again taking merchandise from the store without paying.
The man was located a short distance away, in the company of an adult female with the stolen merchandise.
As a result of the police investigation, a 40-year-old woman from Colbourne was arrested and charged with possession of property obtained by crime. She was released on an Undertaking with a future court date.
The 41-year-old man from Colbourne was arrested and charged with two counts of theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime, and four failure to comply with probation. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
