Feb. 23, 2024 – St. Catharines Cultural Investment Program (SCCIP) applications are
open for the 2024 funding cycle. With important deadlines approaching, cultural
organizations, arts initiatives, and festival producers are encouraged to apply for funding
to support their creative endeavours.
SCCIP offers six program streams tailored to specific priorities, eligibility criteria, and
evaluation standards.
Important deadlines for 2024 applications:
• April 11: Sustaining Core and Midsized Programs;
• May 2: Post-Aug. 2024 Arts Development, Culture Builds Community, and
Culture Days Activity Programs;
• Sept. 19: Post-Jan. 2025 Arts Development, Culture Builds Community, and
Sustaining Festival Programs.
"The St. Catharines Cultural Investment Program is designed to support the creative
sector and strengthen the overall cultural ecosystem in our city," said Ashley Judd-
Rifkin, culture coordinator for the City. "Through our diverse program streams, we aim to
invest in arts and cultural activities that enhance public life and contribute to the
vibrancy of St. Catharines."
Application materials for each program stream will be staggered and released between
February and July 2024.
Interested applicants are encouraged to carefully review eligibility requirements and
evaluation criteria. To ensure eligibility and find the most suitable program for their
projects, applicants must contact staff for guidance before applying.
Eligibility criteria include being active in St. Catharines, providing programming or
services open to the public and publicized city-wide, and – excluding the Culture Days
Activity Program – having a diversified revenue base.
All applications will be reviewed by members of the St. Catharines' Arts and Culture
Advisory Committee, who will then make recommendations for investment to City
Council.
