
March 5, 2024 – Looking for some March Break fun right here in St. Catharines?
Enjoy City swimming, skating, recreational and educational programming, and museum
activities.
All program rules, restrictions and requirements are listed on
stcatharines.ca/ActiveSTC. All normal program fees apply and are viewable online.
Swimming
Leisure Swims and aquatic fitness activities will be running through the week of March
11 to 15 at the St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatics Centre.
Regular admission and supervision requirements for children will be in effect, and pre-
registration is required. Residents can make reservations starting at 9 a.m. two days before their scheduled swim. Non-residents can book a reservation at 9 a.m. the day before their planned swim.

Skating
There’s lots of public skating, stick and puck, shinny and ticket ice at the City over
March Break.
Skating capacity is limited for each available public skate and pre-registration is highly
recommended. Wrist bands will be issued upon arrival at participants’ reserved time and
are required to be worn on the ice.
No equipment rentals are available, and the arena does not provide skating aids.
All children 12 and younger must be supervised on and off the ice by an adult during
public skating.
Family Fun at Port Weller Community Centre
Drop-in fees apply for all programs unless otherwise noted. Fees are $3.15 for children
up to 14 years old and $4.29 for participants ages 18 to 50 years old.
Enjoy all-ages Family Bingo at Port Weller Community Centre on March 11 between 1
and 2 p.m. No pre-registration required. Drop-in fees apply.
Kids can also get in on the fun during Family Gym also on March 11 between 4:45 and
6:30 p.m. All ages. Reservations required. Drop-in fees apply.
Reserve a spot March 13 between 4:45 and 5:45 p.m. to explore the City’s Big Blue
Blocks in a tactile learning and play environment intended for kids between ages two
and 12 years old. Drop-in fees apply.
Open Gym for one and all to play together runs on March 13 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Reservations required. Drop-in fees apply.
Future babysitters can take a City Babysitting Course on March 14 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Pre-registration required. Program fee is $75.
Make Friday extra fun this March Break by designing and building your own Art Bot with
the Creative Bug team. The March 15 workshop from 3 to 5 p.m. is intended for children
six to younger than 14 years old. Registration required. Program fee is $30.
St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre
Check out the St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre to explore local
history and enjoy fun activities. The museum will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
over the break. Bring a packed lunch and enjoy it at the museum.
All programming is drop-in and by donation.
Interactive daily gallery tours take place daily from 11 a.m. to noon and are designed for
children ages six to 12. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Space is limited;
first come, first served.
Drop-in children’s programming is happening each weekday.
Join Maker Space, a series of activities, each teaching a skill important to the founding
of St. Catharines. Daily themes: clothing (March 11), tools and equipment (March 12),
food (March 13), house and home (March 14) and traditions and culture (March 15).
Pick up a March Break adventure book for some self-guided family programming any
day next week. The book includes colouring, mazes, and other activities related to the
stories shared in the museum’s galleries.
