NOTL Museum Neighbourhood Walks Return with the Spring
NOTL Museum Neighbourhood Walks Return with the Spring

There is always a special anticipation for the Neighbourhood Walks offered by the Niagara-on-the-Lake
Museum. Walks are offered once a week through the month of May, and each year these walks sell out
as fast as they are announced. Their popularity is perhaps due to the fact that participants are able to
explore unique areas of Niagara-on-the-Lake, with experienced guides who delve deeper into that area’s
specific history and character.

This year, Megan Gilchrist will once again delight walkers with the many captivating stories of her
hometown, St. Davids; Linda Fritz will dig deep into the strategic historic importance of Queenston;
Denise Ascenzo will look at the ever-changing and evolving history of Queen Street; Brian Marshall will
bring his thoroughly professional architect’s eye to the Architecture of Niagara-on-the-Lake; and Jan
King-Watson will bring her own passion to the popular Voices of Freedom Tour, which looks at the
history of Black settlement in early Niagara.

The Museum offers regular weekend historical walking tours from June to September, but the
Neighbourhood Walks have always had a particular appeal to locals. Early registration is encouraged as
space is limited.
