Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON – The enchanting town of Niagara-on-the-Lake will come alive with the vibrant colours and scents of summer gardens on July 6th as the Niagara-on-the-Lake Horticultural Society Garden Tour presents eight extraordinary gardens that promise an unforgettable horticultural experience.
"For over 30 years, the 'Gardeners Garden Tour' has celebrated the hard work, passion, and expertise of the garden owners in Niagara-on-the-Lake,” says Sandra Stokes, who co-chairs the event with Susan Jurbala. “By curating a selection of exceptional gardens, this tour allows visitors to not only admire the beauty, but also learn directly from the homeowners who have poured their hearts into cultivating these exceptional gardens. It’s a testament to the enduring love of gardening and the power of sharing knowledge that has made this annual event a cherished tradition in our community."
Proceeds from the event will be used to create two scholarships; one for a student attending Niagara College and one for a student attending Niagara Parks - School of Horticulture.

Over the past 5 years, this property has been transformed into a vibrant garden oasis. Six sprawling perennial gardens, punctuated by river rock, patio stones, coloured gravel, water features, fruit trees, and birdhouses, are a testament to the owners' creativity and passion for horticulture.

Visitors will have the opportunity to meet the talented gardeners behind these exceptional landscapes and gain insights into their creative process. The Niagara-on-the-Lake Horticultural Society Garden Tour provides a wonderful opportunity to learn, connect, and celebrate the beauty of the season.
In addition to the unique gardens, the 2024 Garden Tour will highlight a special Bonsai Show, offering a unique perspective on the art of miniature tree cultivation. Attendees will have the chance to admire the intricate details of these miniature landscapes, marvel at the patience and skill required for Bonsai gardening, and gain insights into this ancient Japanese art form.
Included in the event will be guided tours at the pollinator garden nestled within the grounds of Southbrook Winery. Situated in the heart of Niagara's wine country, Southbrook Winery was Canada’s first certified organic and biodynamic winery, and has been using regenerative, organic and biodynamic farming techniques for over 15 years. Visitors will get a rare glimpse into sustainable winemaking practices. During the guided tours, guests can learn about the vital role of pollinators in the ecosystem while enjoying the beauty of the surrounding vineyards.

The Niagara-on-the-Lake Horticultural Society is one of the oldest horticultural societies in Ontario. We are a volunteer-run, charitable organization.
