Niagara Falls, ON – The Niagara Falls Illumination Board will illuminate both the American and Horseshoe Falls in red, green and black on June 19th at the top of every hour to celebrate Juneteenth. Juneteenth, a federal holiday in the United States that is celebrated annually on June 19th, marks the day when enslaved Black Americans in Galveston, Texas, were informed of their freedom two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed.
