Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre Unveils 'Three of Hearts' Sculpture by Renowned Artist Ronald Boaks

Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON – Visitors to the Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre are in for a delightful
surprise with the newest addition to the outdoor grounds: a striking heart-shaped sculpture that
invites interaction. This remarkable piece, aptly named "Three of Hearts" is a generous
donation from acclaimed local artist Ronald Boaks.

As guests approach the installation, they will discover its unique charm. "Three Of Hearts is the
third of these large welded steel hearts that I have created,” shares Boaks. "It is about the need
for inclusivity and love. Both are very much needed in our world today. Live and let live, love
and let love. This sculpture, like the other two hearts, are all on single posts sunk into a sleeve
in the ground to allow rotation. The idea is to enable selfies with the background of choice"

Rima Boles, Director of the Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre, couldn’t be more thrilled about this
addition. "Ron Boaks' gift is a testament to his generous spirit and dedication to public art. This
interactive artwork transforms the way visitors experience art, encouraging them to engage and
become active participants in the creative process. We can't wait for everyone to come and
discover this captivating outdoor art."

The unveiling of "Three of Hearts" is perfectly timed for the highly anticipated Art at the
Pumphouse event on August 3 & 4, 2024. This eye-catching sculpture, standing at 86″ x 52″ x
10″ and crafted from welded painted steel, promises to be a star attraction, drawing attendees
into a vibrant artistic dialogue.

The Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre invites visitors to embrace the interactive nature of "Three
of Hearts." By rotating the piece, guests can create unique photo opportunities against the
stunning backdrop of the heritage building, rose garden, or the scenic Niagara River. "Three of
Hearts" is more than just a sculpture; it's a new way to experience art and connect with the
beauty surrounding the art hub of the community.
