Guided Spirit Walks Back for 13th Year at Victoria Lawn Cemetery

The St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre invites residents to join the 13th annual Guided Spirit Walks at Victoria Lawn Cemetery, a beloved annual event that brings history to life through theatrical performances.

“Our annual Guided Spirit Walks are a unique opportunity to connect with our community’s past. The talented volunteer performers bring history to life, making it a memorable experience for all attendees,” said Kathleen Powell, Historical Services Supervisor and Curator. “We’re excited to introduce a Thursday evening performance to both weekends, providing even more chances for people to join us.”

This year’s theme, “What Good is History?”, promises to captivate audiences with engaging stories about significant St. Catharines residents buried at the cemetery such as Martha Burgoyne, Dr. Lucius Oille, Mary Aletta Coy, Isabella Frampton Hawken, Eliza Sophia Fitzgerald, Jack Haney, and J.B. McIntyre.

Performances will take place on the following dates:

Thursdays: Sept. 5 and 12 at 7 p.m.
Fridays: Sept. 6 and 13 at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Saturdays: Sept. 7 and 14 at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Tickets are available in advance only, starting Aug. 1, at $16 per person. Space is limited, so be sure to secure a spot early. Tickets can be purchased by calling 905.984.8880 or online at stcatharines.ca/MuseumEvents.
