RENFREW OPP LABOUR DAY WEEKEND TRAFFIC CAMPAIGN RESULTS
(RENFREW, ON) - The OPP's Renfrew Detachment participated in the long weekend traffic campaign which began on Friday, August 30 and ended on Monday, September 2, 2024.
During the campaign, police focused the "Big 4", which are distracted driving, aggressive driving including speeding, lack of occupant restraint and impaired driving. The Renfrew OPP report the following campaign charges laid:
· 101 Speeding charges, Highway Traffic Act
· Ten Seatbelt charges, HTA
· One Distracted driving
· One Stunt Drive
· Five Impaired driving charges, CC
· Six Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act charges, and
· 22 other charges, related to our roadways.
Safe driving does not end now that the campaign is over. Drive safely and responsibly all year round.
