Pack the Purolator: Join the Fight Against Hunger in Niagara Falls on September 21st

Niagara Falls, ON – On Saturday, September 21st, from 9am to 3pm, Project SHARE will be hosting its
annual "Pack the Purolator" event across eight different grocery stores in Niagara Falls. This citywide
food drive is part of Feed Ontario's Hunger Action Month, a time to go beyond acknowledging the need
for food security and take tangible action to address it.

Participating Grocery Stores:
Food Basics-McLeod Rd
Food Basics-Montrose Rd
Foodland Chippawa-Dock St
Fresh Co.-Kalar Rd
Jim’s No Frills- Lundy’s Lane
Metro-McLeod Rd
Sobeys-Portage Rd
Zehrs-Morrison St

This event is more than just a food drive—it's a call to action for our community to stand together and
support our neighbors in need. Project SHARE supported 13, 158 people last fiscal year, which
represents an alarming 1 in every 7 residents in Niagara Falls.

"Pack the Purolator" has become a significant annual event for our community, rising essential food and
funds to help Project SHARE ensure none of our neighbours go hungry. It’s a powerful reminder that
when we come together, we can make a real difference. New this year we have three Tip Tap machines
at select locations (Jim’s No Frills on Lundy’s Lane, Food Basics on McLeod and Sobeys on Portage) to
enable customers to make a digital donation. Online donations can also be made at
www.projectshare.ca

Project SHARE distributes an average of 4,450 pounds of food each day and over 1 million pounds of
food annually. While the need for Project SHARE’s emergency services has been increasing significantly
every year, the donations are starting to decrease due to economic constraints. “We are purchasing
more emergency food than ever before as our donations just aren’t keeping up with the need in our
community” explained Pam Sharp, Project SHARE’s Executive Director. “We are calling on those who can
help to make a donation of food or funds to help us take action and ensure none of our neighbours go
hungry.”

Join us on September 21st at any of the participating grocery stores. Donations are accepted at the
grocery stores year-round, in the red Project SHARE barrels, at Project SHARE’s rear Stanley Ave
warehouse and online at projectshare.ca
