Niagara Falls, ON Canada, September 26, 2024 - World Tourism Day (September 27, 2024) marks the launch of 100 Travel Innovations, a collection of stories from 100 places around the world about the programs and activities happening right now to improve our lives – environmentally, economically and socially. As a sponsor of 100 Travel Innovations, Niagara Falls Tourism supports the drive to ensure travel makes the world a better place. View one of our stories here.

Niagara Falls Tourism supports and urges our member organizations to embrace sustainable practices and encourages our visitors to adopt them. As Canada’s #1 leisure destination, there is a responsibility to ensure our naturally beautiful areas will flourish for future generations.

“Supporting an important initiative like 100 Travel Innovations helps us achieve our goal of bringing sustainable trip options to the top of the minds of travellers. Efforts like those from the Niagara Parks Commission and others in our destination show commitment to stewardship and fostering connection with the natural surroundings of Niagara Falls. We are proud to join the other destinations around the world, in 35 countries and on six continents, that have joined this venture.”  Janice Thomson, President & CEO of Niagara Falls Tourism

Today’s launch includes the first 100 innovations addressing biodiversity, climate resilience, cultural preservation, community prosperity, equality, modernization, responsible tourism, and job creation. The collection will grow with more ideas to inform and inspire everyone who travels or wants to make meaningful changes at home.

Destination Think is proud to produce 100 Travel Innovations with support from Niagara Falls Tourism and all other sponsors. This collection was carefully evaluated and selected by Destination Think's editorial team in collaboration with Todd Montgomery, professor at Oregon State University and director of the Sustainable Tourism Lab.
