Cornerstone Family Violence Prevention Centre (Cornerstone) is pleased to announce that its 17th annual Walk A Mile that took place downtown Cobourg on Saturday, October 5th raised over $55,000.
“We are beyond thrilled to have seen our community come together once again at Walk A Mile to support women and children impacted by gender-based violence and we are grateful for this year’s results.” said Cornerstone Executive Director, Nancy Johnston.
The funds raised from the event will go towards supporting the vital programming and services Cornerstone provides to women, children, and youth in Northumberland County; this includes shelter, counselling, housing, and prevention programming.

Walk A Mile is a lighthearted family friendly event that welcomes everyone to come together and participate to create awareness and work towards a future free from gender-based violence. We hope that our community feels hope, inspiration, and motivation as we continue our work together to support families in our community and create a place free from gender-based violence.
