Strike Notice of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers

Lincoln, ON – (November 14, 2024) – The Canadian Union of Postal Workers has issued a 72-hour strike notice as of Tuesday, November 12, 2024, and the Town of Lincoln is working to support our residents in finding alternative solutions to minimize any potential disruptions to services.

With the possibility of a legal strike beginning as early as Friday, November 15, there is still some uncertainty regarding possible service interruptions. We encourage residents to consider alternative methods for submitting payments and important documents during this period. Here are some recommended options:

  • Submitting Documents: Urgent documents for the Town can be submitted via email or by using available online portals. Please refer to our contact page for departmental emails by visiting Lincoln.ca/Contact.
  • Water Bills & Property Taxes: Residents can sign up for pre-authorized payment plans for water bills and property taxes – find out more information by visiting Lincoln.ca/OnlineAccounts.
  • Alternative Payment Options: Payments can be made at your bank or financial institution, through online banking, or by using the credit card payment option available on our website. Learn more about payment options by visiting Lincoln.ca.
  • In-Person Payments: Payments can be made in person at Town Hall, located at 4800 South Service Road, or by using the After Hours Mail Deposit located at the front entrance of the same location

Water Bills: Quarterly water bills are mailed to residents in applicable service areas in accordance with the regular billing cycle that can be found on our website or by clicking here. In the event of a strike, bills may be picked up in person at Town Hall with valid identification Alternatively, residents can register for online services such as e-billing or access to their account details by visiting our Third Party Portal. Residents can also register with WaterSmart at lincolnon.watersmart.com to access consumption data and copies of their utility bills.

Due Dates: The due date specified on your bills and notices will continue to apply. If amounts are not paid by the due date, normal penalty and interest will be charged. Please contact finance@lincoln.ca if you are unsure of your account status.

Parking Tickets: Information on how to pay outstanding parking tickets can be found on our website at Lincoln.ca/ParkingTicket.
