$123,600 Grant from the Ontario Government Gives The Niagara Symphony Orchestra a Meaningful Upgrade

St. Catharines, ON – On Sunday, local MPP Jennie Stevens met with the team at the Niagara
Symphony Orchestra to hear more about the $124,000 Resilient Communities Fund grant from
the provincial government’s Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) that is being used toward
improvements in our patron services and ticketing systems.

“With the generous support of the Resilient Communities Fund grant from the Ontario Trillium
Foundation, the Niagara Symphony Orchestra is poised to recover from the challenges brought
on by COVID-19 and emerge stronger than ever,” said Jennie Stevens, MPP for St. Catharines.
“This funding will enable the NSO to expand its team to foster deeper community connections
and invest in essential software and technological tools to keep the team and audiences
engaged and connected. The Niagara Symphony Orchestra enriches the Niagara Region with
exceptional music and educational programs, and this grant is pivotal in ensuring they can
continue to do so with resilience and innovation.”

The project will improve the Niagara Symphony Orchestra’s ability to communicate with and
care for its community of music-lovers, subscribers, patrons, volunteers, and youth at all levels
of the organization. In addition to upgrades in ticketing data and donor management software,
the grant supported the counsel and administrative assistance in software onboarding,
organizational consulting fees, equipment purchases, and training of administrative staff.

"This grant is a game-changer for our organization. Upgraded ticketing systems and improved
patron data management empower us to enhance the audience experience, foster deeper
connections with our community, and strategically plan for long-term growth,” said Adam Scime,
Executive Director for the Niagara Symphony Orchestra.

The Niagara Symphony Orchestra enriches lives across the Niagara Region through music
performance and education. Because of the support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation, we are
enabled and empowered to enact this mission.

“Whether it’s helping people learn new things, connect with their community, or simply have fun,
organizations like the Niagara Symphony Orchestra deliver experiences that make a difference,”
said Stan Cho, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Gaming. “That’s why grant support through the
Ontario Trillium Foundation is so important. This funding will help ensure they remain at the
heart of the community for decades to come"

The Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) is an agency of the Ontario government with a mission to
build healthy and vibrant communities across the province. Last year, OTF invested more than
$110M into 1,044 community projects and multi-sector partnerships. Projects aim to enhance
economic well-being, foster more active lifestyles, support child and youth development, provide
spaces for people to come together and connect, and create a more sustainable environment.
