St. Catharines, ON – February, 12 – Spotlight Comedy Club is proud to be the only comedy club in Niagara celebrating Black History Month with a stage dedicated to Canada’s top Black comedians. Throughout February, the club will showcase a powerhouse lineup of headliners, hosts, and special guests who bring diverse perspectives, powerful storytelling, and big laughs to the community.
The celebration continues on this week Friday, February 14, with an unforgettable Valentine's night featuring:
Kris Bonaparte – Kris is the truth and his comedy has everyone rolling in the aisles
Nik Duncan – A rising star in Canadian comedy
Matt Henry – A seasoned host setting the stage for an incredible evening
“At Spotlight Comedy Club, we believe comedy is a powerful way to amplify voices, celebrate culture, and bring people together,” said Jeff Gale, owner at Spotlight Comedy Club. “We’re honored to dedicate our stage this February to Black talent, laughter, and community empowerment.”
Artists appearing this month include Marlon Palmer, Keesha Brownie, Gavin Stephens, Kenny Robinson, Rasha Elfeky, Mr. Lewin and more.
Giving Back: Partnership with Future Black Female
As part of this month-long celebration, Spotlight Comedy Club is partnering with Future Black Female, a local organization dedicated to empowering Black women and girls. To support their impactful initiatives, a portion of weekend ticket sales throughout February will be donated to Future Black Female.
“We want this month to not only be a celebration of incredible Black comedians but also a way to give back and make a lasting impact,” added Gale.
Engaging the Community
Spotlight Comedy Club is also inviting Black-owned businesses, community leaders, and organizations to participate by sharing their stories, setting up exhibits, and engaging with audiences throughout the month. The club is committed to creating a space where comedy, culture, and community come together in a meaningful way.
