Town of Bracebridge declares a significant weather event

The Town of Bracebridge has declared a Significant Weather Event due to the winter storm warning issued by Environment Canada. Rapidly accumulating snow and heavy winds could make travel difficult and impact visibility.

Public Works crews are actively monitoring the weather and will continue to perform winter maintenance operations on all roads and sidewalks. Additional time may be required to achieve standard maintenance levels during this time.

During periods of inclement weather:

  • Limit all non-essential travel. If you need to travel, please drive according to the weather and road conditions, and take the necessary precautions to ensure for a safe journey;
  • Clear snow away from blue 9-1-1 civic address signs to ensure emergency services can find your home in the event of an emergency;
  • Ensure outside vents for all fuel-burning appliances are clear of snow and ice;
  • Download and register for the Voyent Alert app to receive location-based notifications to your home phone, mobile device or email.

The District of Muskoka has also declared a significant weather event effective February 15 at 3 p.m. which pertains to all District roads.
