NIAGARA, ON – February is Talk Today Month in the OHL. The Talk Today Program teaches players about drug awareness, health and safety education, and respect for women, and has become an important piece of the league’s ‘Players First’ guide. The program also provides mental health support and raises suicide awareness among the Niagara IceDogs organization and throughout the OHL.
We’re extremely grateful to partner with the Canadian Mental Health Association to host a Talk Today event to increase public awareness and promote mental health in our community. By hosting this event, the Niagara IceDogs are helping eliminate the stigma and discrimination associated with mental health issues and encouraging open discussions about mental health within the community.
Members of the Niagara IceDogs play leadership roles within the community, and our players, in particular, are seen as excellent role models who positively influence young fans and their families.
Come out to support your Niagara IceDogs this Thursday, February 27th at 7:00 PM, presented by Syngenta and Grain Farmers of Ontario, as they take on the Erie Otters. In collaboration with the Canadian Mental Health Association, the Gold Puck sales located in the concourse will be available for purchase. The proceeds from these sales will be donated to the Canadian Mental Health Association to help provide the resources necessary for those struggling with mental illness.
