BEAMSVILLE – Hon. Doug Ford, Premier of Ontario, unveiled his cabinet this week with an experienced team that will deliver on the government's mandate to do whatever is necessary to protect Ontario in the face of tariffs from the United States, while building a stronger, more competitive and resilient economy.  At a swearing-in ceremony, Wednesday, Sam Oosterhoff, MPP for Niagara West, was reappointed Associate Minister of Energy – Intensive Industries as part of the expanded Ministry of Energy and Mines.

Minister Oosterhoff will continue to focus on protecting Ontario's energy intensive industries and expanding last mile grid connections across the province, serving alongside Hon. Stephen Lecce, Minister of Energy and Mines.

"I look forward to continuing to work closely with Minister Lecce to protect our province and building the necessary energy infrastructure to supply the record capital investments from domestic and international companies who are expanding in Ontario," said Minister Oosterhoff.

"I am thankful the Premier has entrusted me to help continue building up our economy and delivering on our core commitments for workers and job creators."

"As Ontario faces one of the greatest challenges in our history, workers and families are counting on us to stand up for their jobs and wellbeing," said Premier Ford.

"Our government will double down on our plan to build, train and reskill workers for better jobs and bigger paycheques, tear down internal trade barriers, retool companies for new customers in new markets, attract more investments and cut through red tape to develop our vast natural resources, including critical minerals in the Ring of Fire.  No matter what, we will protect Ontario."

"Whether it is our responsibly sourced critical minerals, our strong legacy of industrial innovation and excellence, our robust supply chain or access to reliable, affordable and abundant energy, our government will continue to create the conditions for job growth and work to ensure our workers and job creators thrive," said Minister Oosterhoff.

"I look forward to ensuring that our government continues to protect Ontario and future prosperity, here in Niagara, and across the province."
