ICEDOGS “CASTLE SAVES” DONATES $2,500 IN SUPPORT OF MENTAL HEALTH

The Niagara IceDogs teamed up with Castle Niagara Building Centre-Thorold and the voice of the IceDogs, New Country 89.1 on a Mental Health fundraiser called “Castle Saves”.

For every save by an IceDogs goaltender during the 2024-2025 regular season, Castle Niagara Building Centre pledged a $1 to Humanity Unlimited Global (H.U.G)-Your Life Counts. It’s an organization dedicated to mental health and suicide prevention through their mission statement, “Building & nurturing emotionally healthy individuals, families, & communities”.

Kevin Bolibruck of Castle Niagara, an OHL champion with Peterborough in 1996, reflects on the importance of this initiative, “There is nothing more vital than the mental health and safety of every person, especially our young people.”

IceDogs Owners Darren and Michele DeDobbelaer are only too pleased to echo that sentiment. “The IceDogs are proud to help support this cause in support of those in a mental health crisis”.

Goaltender Owen Flores and his crease-mates stopped 2,260 shots during the just completed 2024-2025 season, for a donation of $2,260. Kevin Bolibruck and the staff at Castle Niagara Building Centre-Thorold have chosen to round up the donation to $2,500.
